Meanwhiles is a series dedicated to the things that happen while the rest of life continues, opting for the useless, the quiet, the hidden, the careful. Looking towards the ways artists have celebrated or participated in this, excavating the small moments I’d have looked over otherwise, spending time with ideas I wouldn’t have otherwise. The meanwhile becomes space in space, time in time. Its like a transition, a jump cut, without ever going anywhere. A look down, a newly noticed mark, a found object, an isolated color. Meanwhiles go on and on, and they operate outside the familiar in the things, the moments when the familiar ceases to be that, by choice or otherwise.
